I grew up with ceramics in school art programs and came back to it as an adult, working out of a studio in San Francisco’s Bayshore neighborhood.
Returning to ceramics was precipitated by a sudden explosion of the number of plants in my life - I was finally settled in a home without roommates, and my desire to adopt a pet had grown out control despite my landlord’s strict rule against cats or dogs. Getting way too into plants was a coping mechanism, and once a person has 40 or so plants you begin to realize just how expensive nice planters are. I decided instead to make my own.
